My sermon notes for Sunday morning, July 17th. Remember, these are my personal study notes and not a manuscript of the sermon. They are provided as an outline each week for our Tabernacle Church family. The church provides a live stream of the service each Sunday at 10:30 on Facebook. We also provide the services through YouTube by Sunday afternoon. You can find Sermon Notes, Family Devotional Guides, Prayer List, and other resources at our Church Website.
1 Corinthians 11:18-34
INTRO

- vv. 17-34 he is teaching on the Lord’s Supper
- They were coming together to observe the Lord’s Supper

- January 31, 2022 Message on this text
- We need to learn how important it is WHY we come together.
Come together for the better of others – vv. 18-22
because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse
- Does more harm than good
- When we gather we should build one another up
- Church is not just about us… it is about others also
- We have turned church attendance about us
Paul knew the church was divided. (not together)
- They were thinking about themselves
- Individuals or united?
Eph 4:1-6 – We need to be unified
- In our calling
- In our relationships
- In the Gospel
- Spirit
- Son
- Father
Ephesians 4:1–6 - [1] I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—[5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, [6] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (ESV)
