Romans 12:9-13

Free from Hypocrisy – vv. 9-10
Let love be genuine
- Without hypocrisy. Play acting.
- LOVE OF GOD and OTHERS. Our life, heart, actions
- Matthew 22:36-40
By hating evil
- to hate with intense feeling, to loath, to look upon with horror.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:22 – abstain from every form of evil.
By holding fast to good
- To join or fasten together, to be attached to.
- Philippians 4:8
By loving as a family
- Real love (AGAPE) that is demonstrated/obvious
- Brotherly affection. Family member type love. 1 Corinthians 13:4
- Outdo one another in showing honor
- Go before, to lead, set example
- Reverence, respect, esteem.
- IMAGINE A CHURCH FULL OF PEOPLE TAKING THE LEAD TO ESTEEM EACH OTHER Titus 2:1-15
Daily Living for Christ – v.11
Do not be slothful in zeal
- Slothful – Lazy, slow moving, sluggish, hesitating
- Zeal – Diligence, earnest effort
- Too many people – I AM HERE IF YOU NEED ME. WE NEED YOU!!!! OPEN YOUR EYES.
Be fervent in spirit
- Boiling over. On fire.
- Holy Ghost unction. On fire for the Lord
Serve the Lord
- Colossians 3:23-24 – Whatever your do, do it heartily unto the Lord
- Acknowledge His Lordship and live accordingly
- Devotion and Dependence
- I Serve Him because of Who He Is and Who I am.
- He is God. I am His bondservant
Conquering Your Trials – v.12
We WILL face trials. We can conquer them.
By rejoicing in hope
- Our hope in God. His presence, concern, care.
- 2 Things will happen
- Remove the trial
- Strengthen me through the trial
Patient in tribulation
- Remain, persevere, abide, Bear up bravely
- Isaiah 41:10
By praying constantly
- Constant attention, unceasing.
- Communion with. Connection to.
Pouring Into Others – v.13
Look out.
- Beyond our personal walls
- STAY BUSY (WORSHIP, SERVING)
- Focus on others
By giving generously
- Share with those in need.
By being hospitable
- Open our doors to others
- Helping others (strangers)
